Anyone around tonight?

Its very slow on the boards tonight, and there is nothing good on TV right now so I was hoping for some excitement on here.

• I'm bored and catching up on the last week. My lurking skills have been sub-par lately.

That, and my FI has football on both his computer and the TV right now so I need some distraction lol.
• Hey, i'm here. I just finished watching Celebrity Ghost stories and now i'm doing some work for my classes.

• Amber, are those posters from here?  I don't recognize either of the names.

osu- what brings you out of lurking?  And yesterday had some pretty heated threads going if you haven't gotten to them yet.
I'm surfing. Tried to get an exciting conversation going below, but that didn't happen. DH & his brother are watching the hockey game, and I'm watching the Food network and organizing my wedding stuff to pass on to my new FSIL. My brother proposed on Tuesday!

Aww congrats for your brother!  Haha it's such a great feeling to unload all of the wedding stuff.  I gave all of mine to a friend getting married and she said "no I can't take all of this, its yours."  I just walked away and said "you're stuck with it now!"

I saw your thread below but it seemed to have stopped so I didn't post.

• Usually I'm checking way after the good parts of the convo, so I just read and enjoy :) I'm just now reading some of yesterday's. The "unpopular opinions" one was good as always. lol
In Response to Re: Anyone around tonight? : It really is. We, like you, were married in July and I have most of it gone. FSIL just asked if I was willing to share my "binder", and I am so happy it will be gone! Super happy for them, they live together, we all lived together for a time, so it wasn't a big surprise. So I'm using this boring Saturday night to make her a binder of her own. How's the West Coast treating you now? Didn't you just start a new job? Getting any more used to having your H gone (seriously, that sucks)?
Posted by mrs.jesse
How long do you think they'll wait until the wedding?  Are you excited to try and help them at all, or are you over wedding planning and talk?  BIL is getting married next summer and H and I are both in it, and I just have no desire to talk planning or anything with any of his family.  I feel like such a bitch, but I'm just so over it.

I'm really enjoying it out here.  The time difference sucks though because everyone else is still on the East coast.  So basically after about 7:00 my time I have no communication with anyone except on here.  Yeah I just started working a few days ago.  Its just a few days a week for now and will hopefully go full time soon.  I work from home though which is great, and I still get to knot all day.

Yeah its actually been pretty easy so far with H gone.  I'm sure its going to get harder.  He actually was able to call today, but the phone is really hard to hear, so I almost prefer emailing.  We've been able to email back and forth every day at least which is great.

• I'm here for a few :).  I was just writing an e-mail to FI's family about stuff to do Thanksgiving weekend.

• Jadzia - I got addicted to all of those ghost shows, but now am afraid to watch them while I'm alone.  So the ghost shows are on hiatus for a while.  Was it celebrities with haunted houses?

Osu- I usually miss all the morning threads because its lunchtime for most people by the time I get on.
imageBabyFruit Ticker
• Yeah, not having to go out when its really cold will be even better.  I'll have to go to the office maybe once a week, but thats not bad.  Its a 40 minute drive though without traffic, so I won't enjoy those days.

Our engagement was about 9 months, but we only planned for about 5 because we had to wait to set a date.  I loved planning so quick, and don't know how people can plan for a long time.  I fully understand the many reasons people do, but I personally would go nuts.  I was so ready for the wedding to be over already by the time it rolled around, and that was only 5 months.  Thats great that you're so close with your FSIL too.  BIL's FI is really nice, we just don't have a ton in common, and she is a lot younger than me.  I know she only asked me to be a BM as a filler, but she's about to be family so I had to say yes.
imageBabyFruit Ticker
• Yeah I would probably be the same way if we had a long engagement.  Ours was originally supposed to be about 14 months since we were planning a New Years Eve wedding this year, but had to bump it up.  We had contemplated what to do, and had even considered a realy small JOP wedding because we wanted to be married before the deployment, and didn't know what kind of wedding we could have afforded.  My parents ended up offering us to pay for most of the wedding which was awesome.  I fully know we wouldn't have been able to have the wedding we did as quick as we did if not.

I get along with FSIL just fine, but with H and I being LDR, and H being the one that lived away from his family, we didn't see them alot.  And when we did, we rarely saw them because they work weird hours.  So I spent more time with her at my RD and wedding than all other times combined probably.  So its really more just that we haven't had much opportunity to get close.  And unfortunately we probably won't ever have much chance with us living out of state.

• beachy beachy ARE YOU THERE?

• I'm here now, are you still here?
imageBabyFruit Ticker
• Yaaaayyyyy!!!!  You're back!!!!

How was the cruise?  Was it amazing?
imageBabyFruit Ticker
• Yes it was awesome.  We definitely brought the age average down a bit, but we had a great time.
how are you?  H has been deployed?  Did you get the book?  What else is new?
Photobucket
• i'm doing good.  Yes, H has already been gone a week.  It actually hasn't been as difficult as I expected, but its only been a week so theres a good chance it will get worse still.  Hopefully not though.  We've been able to email back and forth everyday, and he was able to call today, so we've had great communication and he doesn't feel nearly so far away.

Yes I got the book!!  I've been enjoying it very much!  I have it on my nightstand and have been reading it before bed, so I usually  only get to a chapter or maybe 2 a night if I'm lucky.  But its really funny I love it!

imageBabyFruit Ticker
• Well I'll be around most nights now :)  I'm sure I'm a great sub for a H...  :P  Glad you like the book, I found it funny,
I miss anything exciting?

• You are a great substitute actually!  Andy has been around every night, but she keeps bailing early.  Hopefully she comes on tomorrow and reads me yelling at her.  Ummm, there's been a few heated debates.  Posters saying they don't respect wives who take their H's name, another saying they refuse to talk to anyone who doesn't speak fluent English.  Pretty much the usual crap.

And I've been in like a week long debate on the military  brides board about how you don't get a 2nd wedding unless you get divorced.
imageBabyFruit Ticker
• 1.  I took H's name.  It's much better than my maiden.
2.  If I only spoke to people who spoke fluent English, I'd have a hard time doing anything.  WTF is wrong with people.  So we just got back from our trip. I HATE that when I'm traveling in a large group I can pick out the Americans.  The stigma of the American traveler is, unfortunately, so true.
Photobucket
• Yeah I agree.  I've never traveled to another country (besides Canada) if it wasn't on a cruise so I can't even imagine what its like in Europe.

And I also took H's name and never thought twice about taking it.  Its actually harder than my maiden name, which is my middle name on FB in case you didn't figure that out.

I'm so aggravated today.  H wanted to get his wedding band inspected before he left, and we did all 3 to keep them on the same schedule.  The little diamond chip on the inside of my e-ring band (the "o" in Leo) fell out, and they wouldn't pass mine for inspection unless i sent it in to be fixed.  So they called and said it came back in and I went to get it today and they sent me someone else's ring.  I wouldn't even have known if it wasn't 2 sizes too small.  So luckily they found my ring at the repair place still, and I should get it in a few days.
imageBabyFruit Ticker
• What a pain in the ass!  How do they mix up rings?
I'll stop talking about american tourists, but damn.  Come on.
In other news, I suppose I shouldn't be so self-conscious of how I look.  Cause damn, some people thtat should NOT be wearing 2 piece swim suits were prancing around in string bikinis.
Photobucket
• Hahaha wasn't this your HM?  Look at you checking out guys on it!

I'm so exhausted right now its pathetic.  I really want to go to bed and am just too lazy to move right now.
imageBabyFruit Ticker
• Ha yea it was.  But I'm 99% sure they were gay.  Well, as evidenced by their male companions, they were.  It's ok - H commented on 2 blondes on the ship - ok, his comments were that they were too skinny, but stiil - he checked them out :)  haha.
Photobucket
• Oh yeah most of the guys wearing them on our ship were gay men.

Haha H will say the same thing, like "that girl needs to eat a cheeseburger."  And I laugh because I figure thats his way of looking without getting in trouble.  But I can honestly say he's not at all attracted to super skinny types, as evidenced by me clearly, but even his ex-GFs that I know.  Thank God, cause I would probably have to be anorexic for 9 months before anyone would ever say "she needs to eat cheeseburger."
imageBabyFruit Ticker
• yeah i'm defintely not in need of a cheeseburger :)  especially after that trip.  damn i gained back the 8 pounds i had lost.
Photobucket
• Aww.  Thats the worst part about cruises.  There's good food offered 24 hours a day.

Okay, I think I'm going to head up to bed.  Will you be around tomorrow?  I'll be on all day probably since my computer will be up for fantasy football anyways.  I'm so glad you're home!  Its definitely going to make my nights more complete!
imageBabyFruit Ticker
• yeah i'm sure i'll be around - i think H will be watching football/sleeping on the couch all day.  all I have to do is transport a curio cabinet for my mom.  otherwise i'll be around!  have a good night!
Photobucket
• Thanks, you too.  See you tomorrow!

P.S. You have massive catching up to do on the post count, BTW.  This is what happens when I'm unemployed for months, and am now working from home on the computer all day.  Haha I'll be Platinum in no time!

• i'm gonna have to be a post whore :)
