Good Morning Ladies! My FI & I are paying for our wedding on our own & have a rather tight budget. I have a large family (I have 20 aunts & uncles - not including their spouses) & my FI has a lot of family that lives close by so a small wedding is not an option, even if we just invited relatives. I want get other bride's opinions on an idea I had over the weekend to save money. Would it be tacky to have a small(ish) ceremony w/ mostly family, supper @ the church with the people invited to the ceremony & then a dance where we serve cake, drinks & snacks that we could invite more people to? We live in a small town & both of us grew up in the area so there will be a lot of people hurt if they aren't invited & we want to be able to celibrate with as many people as possible. The other idea we had was a later ceremony followed by the cake/dance reception. Any thoughts would be helpful!!
