Excitement for the day

When I got to work this morning, I noticed that there was a water line that broke and we had a nice little brook instead of a road. No big deal, its not quite cold enough to freeze. The water company came out and started digging to fix whatever is leaking. Suddenly they stopped and the police, firetruck, and ambulance showed up. Apparently they hit the gas line (adurr- the gas company came out and marked where the line was).

The fire chief came in and told us that they hit the line and we would have to evacuate the building. YES! I want to go home, its my long day with classes, I could use a nap! Then he said 'just kidding'. Not funny fireman, you got my hopes up.

So right now they are all standing around the hole looking into it, waiting for something exciting to happen, I guess. Wonder how much they are getting paid to have a dozen people look into a hole. But while the workers are waiting for something to happen, they are coming in the store and looking around.

PSAW: DH got a raise yesterday, yay!

  • I got home last night and my furnace broke. Off to my mommies for the night. How fun. Mark is in Manitoba visiting his family, so I just flipped the breaker and walked out. Repair man is there fixing it now.

  • Hope your furnace repair man knows more than this back hoe operator!

  • If it makes you feel better Mr Stack will probably be inputting the payroll hours for the gas co men standing there looking at the hole.  So it's really just helping Mr Stacks job security and giving him work to do!  LOL.  He's in charge of most of the gas construction crews hours in PA.
  • Haha, these guys will keep mr stack busy! Still standing around the hole.

  • Haha, my post kinda reminds me of that commercial where the three people are watching the construction crew and talk about how its typical that one works and three watch, while their coworker is doing all the work. Guess I'm not much better than the guys watching the hole, I'm on here talking about it!

Nope. Real firemen rarely look like the ones in the calendars. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif" border="0" alt="Tongue out" title="Tongue out" />

I beg to differ.  I dated one.  He looked like the ones in the calendars.  I guess he could be an exception.
