How far in advance should shower invitations be sent?

Btw, I am not hosting my own bridal shower or sending out invites. My moh wants to know and I'm not sure. A month? 3 weeks?

    Mine went out 5 weeks prior (maybe a little less) but folks have to travel on average an hour and there were 65 people JUST on my MILs list... my aunt is hosting and it's Sunday!  oh man.
