Yes!  Awesome!  Do you have any idea what part of Boston?  There are a zillion little suburb towns.  FI is from Medford, which is about 5 minutes from downtown Boston.  We like that town, and a couple other ones close by.

Oh - and, FI and I are currently not playing WOW, but we've put in a fair amount of time in the game.  Next expansion, we'll get sucked back in.  Unless we're chasing baby squirrly around.

Worcester is a ways out there, but even if you end up there, we could be bffs.  I've been looking at jobs in Billerica and Burlington.  I think that's about an hour from Worcester.

Ah, then Worcester is closer to them.  But, Boston proper is more fun.    I vote for Suffolk.  But, property values in Greater Boston are REDIC.

Girl, I'm from NY.  I know all about ridic.

I'm from Georgetown, KY, which is right outside of Lexington.  I got engaged to ex-FI my senior year of college and moved with him to Huntsville, AL (and joined TK, thus my join date).  Turns out that was a bad plan, so we split and I moved back to Lexington.  I worked for a big IT company there but was MISERABLE.  So, I found a job with a tiny IT company in Louisville and took that.  Turns out, tiny companies have tiny budgets, and they couldn't/wouldn't fund any of the stuff we needed to sell decent software.  So I got a job doing IT for another big company, but this company is much better. 

FI landed in Kentucky courtesy of the Army and Ft. Knox.  We met about 3 months after he got here.

Nebb, I don't think I can get FI to move anywhere other than Boston.  The army has moved him around a bunch and he just wants to go HOME.

I'm cool with moving.  I moved back to Lexington b/c I got offered a promotion to go there.  I appreciate being close enough to visit my family, but I really don't want to be in their back yard.  My parents were pretty strict, and I've never felt super comfortable with them or my sis (I love them, we're just different).

My immediate family is all in Kentucky, but I have family scattered from Maryland to Alabama.  The hardest part is our kids not spending as much time with my family as they and I would like, but we'll work it out.

As for the boards. . . I do project management stuff.  I don't really write code anymore.  However, I mandate a lot of testing and performance standards and such that might have helped highlight these issues BEFORE the cutover instead of after.  Then again, I don't know what really happened.  But, I'm both sympathetic and judgemental of the knot's IT team.

Oh, yes.  He grew up on the Mystic River, actually.    He has the stereotypical Boston accent, too, which my family finds HI-LARIOUS.

I'm sorry that you're not super comfy with your fam, but soon you'll be creating your own family!  And that's good that you have some relatives somewhat close.  When are you guys looking to move?  Have you started looking for jobs yet?

Are you really 29?  Sorry to be so blunt, I was guessing from your HS graduation year.

I've been pretty patient with the whole switch over, but it finally got to me last weekend.  Thankfully things are better now. *crosses fingers*

July, if the stars align.  I've been looking at jobs for the last year, but not really actively pushing my resume out there.  My intent is to start that in Feb.  I can't really go before July, and people dont really hire months and months in advance in my line of work. 

Yup, 29.  For another. . . 24 days anyway.  Why - do I come across as an old fart or a beebee? 

When I'm at volleyball stuff, in athletic-ish clothes with my hair up, people guess me from 18 - 24 or 25, mostly.  I actually got carded to bet at the racetrak a couple years ago, which only requires you to be 18.  I stared blankly. 

I think you're a year or two older than I am?  Something like that?

I guess I thought a little bit younger, like mid 20s, but in a good way.  You're definitely not a beebee!  Nor an old fart.

Yep, I'm 31, but can definitely pass for younger.

I hear ya about the job thing - I've been waiting for the new year to get here so that Bryan could start looking.  I think colleges generally hire on a school year schedule, even if it's for research.

I just told B he has to get one of the jobs there now since I'm making plans for the future.  He probably thinks I've even been looking at real estate, LOL.  I'm really not that bad, I swear!  I just really wanted to move to MA but didn't expect him to find opening(s) there, so I'm really excited.

Is FI with you in KY now?
