  • Of course you do!

    We're talking about HP, right?

  • Surprised

Weren't you all WHAT! NO WAY!?

  • Yes, HP indeed!  :)  I can't wait to start book 4 tonight.

  • yah 2.5 hours is about the max for movies, any longer and you get close to Titanic territory.

  • You'll continue to be disappointed, but like you said...they would be some long-ass movies if they had everything in the book.  Plus some of it (emotional inner workings of the mind) just can't really be conveyed unless you had some kind of voiceover.

  • The reason I have no problem with the movies is because JK Rowling herself said that they're not supposed to be the books, they're the story of Harry Potter told through a different form, just like it'd be different if it was told through song or through a poem.

4 is still my favorite, I think. I've read them all multiple times, and 4 is just awesome.

  • I'm glad I'm reading them way late, so I can read them all in a row without having to wait for the next one to come out :)

I'm feeling the same way about starting to watch Dexter.  Although we're just about to start Season 3 so now I have to wait for the DVDs instead of watching them on Instant.

  • I was going to say the same thing Kiks! I'm so impatient.

  • We recently bought the first 6 movies, and I told H I wanted to watch them all again before the 7th comes out.  We've watched 4 of them in 2 weekends Tongue out
  • Maybe I'll catch in time for the last movie- that hasn't come out yet, right?

  • At least the HP movies follow the basic plot line though! I went to see Legends of the Guardians the other day and it was completely different. Like..."Harry Potter and Draco are really brothers and Dumbledore is really Voldemort who has taken over Hogwarts and surprise, Harry's parents are really alive" different.

    Nope, you're good. November 19!
  • I think you should read the dark tower series (stephen king) after you finish harry potter, it blows it out of the water. AND there are harry potter elements in the 7th book, so there you go.
  • We must discuss once you are finished (DT), page me when this happens.
