How do I handle this situation? Photographer problem.

So I have found three photographers that are in my budget.  I met with two of them already, and made an appointment for another one for March 1st.  Out of the two that I have already met with I liked the work of one of them better. So now I am down to two photographers in my budget, in my area, and that are available on my wedding day.

The photographer I already met with will NOT answer an email.  When I first started contacting her through email she responded quickly and was a ton of help.  Now I can't get anything back.  I have emailed her maybe three times in the past few weeks.

The photographer I haven't met with did a friends wedding.  I see all the time that she is commenting on this friends statuses, so I know she is on her computer, but she doesn't answer her emails or her phone either.  I'm running out of time to figure this stuff out, and I really have already pushed my budget a little to be able to afford either one of them.  There really isn't anyone else in my area that is within my budget and available on my day that has work that I like.

What in the world do I do?

  • GAH. I answered this then TK ate my post.

Work with people who answer your attempts at contact. If they donät, they can suck it.

I'm trying to find another photographer in the area that is both available and affordable, so far with no luck really.  I'm going to keep trying though!  This is crazy.
  • Well I don't think it's good customer service at all to not be answering, I'm sure they are probably busy right now since it's prime wedding show time.

If you're ready to give up on them, tell them that in the message or email.  Especially if they are the company you like.  I would write one last email that says in it " we are interested in possibly booking with you, but the lack of communication right now is making us question if this would continue even after booking.

  • This might be a stupid question, but have you checked with your local board? Either for recommendations for other photographers that fit your budget criteria, or to find out more about the ones you are considering. I know my local board is priceless for stuff like this.

    White Knot
    Lilypie First Birthday tickers
  • You still have one more photographer to meet with.  After meeting with him/her, if you like their work the same or better than the one who cannot communicate well.  I would go with the last photographer.  You want someone who will give you good customer service before and after you give them money.  There are girls on this board who had great customer service and then as soon as their money went to the vendor, the great service stopped.  So think about that before making your decision.

And as a PP said, try your local board.
  • Have you tried calling them?  I prefer e-mail to calling someone as well, but some people are terrible at returning e-mails but will answer or return a call.

However, in this case, it sounds like they are just being lazy and have bad customer service.  I would go with a different photographer.
