Invitations to church members

Hi ladies---

I  am the one who posted about my church ministry members wanting to come to my wedding even when I explained that I cannot invite them to reception, which they said was fine. So today's question is...

Do I need to give them invitations, too? My church does not put weddings on the bulletin, but the ministray team members have my wedding date down on the team calendar. If I need to give them invitations, should delete the line that says "Reception to follow"? If I can give invitations, can I include the mad-lib RSVP card? It doesn't have any food choice selection (I'm having buffet) - it has one of those filling in wishes for the newly weds. I'd like to include it for the well wishes part mainly, but if it's going to imply that they are invited to the reception, I don't want to do it.

Thanks for your help!

Re: Invitations to church members

  • I agree with other people.  A verbal invite should be sufficient, if it isn't too much trouble.  I'm in the same boat as you - I have some people from my fiance's church that will be showing up to the ceremony but that we can't invite to the reception.  I'll use this advice for when I am looking at invitations . . .

  • Thanks ladies!!
