(P&)E Laundry Enthusiasts, I Need Your Help.

How do you manage to wash and dry your sheets without getting all wrinkled? I can't seem to master this.

Any tips?

  • I take them out immediately after they're dry.  I only use fitted sheets though.  i don't use top sheets ever though.

A friend of mine irons her sheets.

  • Honestly the dryer just usually takes all of the wrinkles out.

However, I don't know what my H does while he sleeps, but somehow his pillow is ALWAYS wrinkly.

  • I'm certainly not a laundry enthusiast, thus I just put the wrinkly sheets on the bed.

  • I've heard sleeping on ironed sheets is magnificent, but that just seems like so much work.

  • The fitted sheet and the flat sheet aren't really that problematic, but my duvet is. I spent a good while spraying it down with Downy Wrinkle Release, lol.
  • wash you rsheets in at least warm, if not hot water( hot water kills dust mites and eggs), do not overload the dryer, dry them on permanet press instead of cotton and take them out right away.

    dryer balls can also help.

I do this as well.  Although the early I think them out, the less wrinkles they seem to have.

Would someone really be able to feel the difference if their sheets were ironed?

I'd never spend the time ironing them. Not only would it be a hassle, but it would just take forever to iron the sheets and then in my case, to iron the duvet.
  • I wondered that too, but apparently there is a difference.  But the person who told me this also irons his boxers, so...

  • If you line dry your clothes, yes ironing is great. It will soften them up again.

Jess, next time, spray the duvet cover with the Downy, and put it back in the dryer with a damp washcloth on the de-wrinkle cycle.  It will save on ironing.

There is a woman that works with DH whose sole job is to do laundry and iron everything, sheets, underwear, towels, etc.

I did that, but didn't do the damp washcloth.

Has anyone ever tried doing the damp tennis balls? I've read that it can work, but never tried it.
  • I've heard about the tennis ball thing, but haven't tried it.  I usually just dry my sheets separately and take them out as soon as they're done. never had a problem with wrinkles.
  • There is nothing in the world that feels or smells as good as line dried sheets!

The hotel I stay at in London has real linen sheets and they are ironed!  heaven!

Here I just call the Chinese laundry across the street.  sorry :(
  • I just don't care about wrinkled sheets. they're going under the comforter anyway, and FI and I will wrinkle them the first night. big whoop.
