Tipping?

So my Fiance and I are having our ceremony and reception at the same venue.  We have a package deal with the DJ, bar service, etc. included. What are the rules on tipping? Undecided Please help because I'm not sure what would be too much, and what would be too little. Thank you in advance.

Re: Tipping?

  • We had our ceremony and reception at the same venue as well. Gratuity was included in the cost of the package, but I tipped everyone an additional 15% because they really did a great job.

    If gratuity hadn't been included, I probably would've tipped 20% - 25%

Here's an article that might be useful ---

  • Are you paying the vendors directly or is the venue paying them?  Is there a gratuity and/or admin charged on your total package price through the venue?  If so, the venue should be passing that tip on to the individual vendor.

I can book vendors through my venue and then I pay my venue directly and they pay the vendor.  I have to pay the 18% admin fee on the entire amount, including the vendors they book for me.  Because of this, they are responsible for handing out any tips to those vendors and for feeding those vendors.  So, I will not be tipping those vendors anything additional.

In my opinion, you shouldn't have to give the venue a tip on the cost of those vendors unless they are passing on at least some of it to the vendor.

I discovered that the gratuity is included so I do not have to tip extra. That helps the money situation...thanks for the help.
