Cocktail Napkins

We ordered 2000 cocktail napkins for our wedding. By mistake the grooms name is printed first. We have a monogram M. Below is his name and my name.. below that our wedding date. I'm not sure if this is a huge deal and what it may or may imply. Any advice? I thought about getting them reprinted but its going to cost hundreds of dollars. HELP!

Re: Cocktail Napkins

  • People are going to spill things on them and throw them away.  I wouldn't worry about it.
  • No one will notice.  If, by some tiny chance, someone notices, they will not judge you for it.  Save your money.

  • But is it a total wedding no no?!
  • NBD..

My mom surprised us with 2000 cocktail napkins.   4 years later there are 1000 just sitting in my closet.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

Dude.  What did we just tell you?  It's NOT a big deal.  If it was a total wedding "no no" we would have told you.

    Relax a little bit.

smart lady here ^.  Lister to her
  • confession:   We didn't have special cocktail napkins because the site provided them.
  • We used fun ones from Party City. They said things like "if you can read this, you need a refill," "may your glass always be half full" and "go ahead, wine a little, you'll feel better." Super cheap, fun and fit our personalities better than the monogrammed ones. Plus we were able to keep the leftovers and can use them at future parties. :)

So no, no one will notice.
  • I'm confused. The groom's name shouldn't go first on stuff? Um, because it does on our wedding website URL. I just went with which sounded better.
  • That's a lot of napkins...

Eh, it should usually go ladies first/don't seperate a man from his last name, but it's not a big deal.  Especially on an URL.
  • They are napkins.  People will wipe their mouths, spill crap on them and maybe even blow their nose with them.  No one will notice or care that they are personalized.  Just another thing the crazy wedding industry makes us feel that we have to waste money on or our weddings will just suck to high heavens.

  • Actually, his family might feel kinda honored..

but yeah, what everyone else said.  Girl, you have bigger things to worry about than word order on napkins that no one will notice.
