I know you're not supposed to use any wedding gifts until after the wedding.. is it the same for shower gifts? I'm assuming yes but thought I'd ask here.
I will definitely be sending out Thank You notes immediately after my shower and think I probably am supposed to just keep everything boxed up until after the wedding....
Thoughts?

    Yes, Thank You notes ASAP, wait to use any gift surrounding the wedding until afterwards.

    FWIW, I have been living with FI for 5 years....I am going to use all my stuff as soon as I get it. :)  The reason you are not supposed to is in the event the wedding does not happen you can return the gifts...

    Yeah, I'm using a couple shower items I really need, but we are ok with replacing them if the worst should happen.
