My fiance's parents' guest list is going to be really really long. I get that they have a big family and a lot of close friends and business acquaintences that they want to invite, and I'm more than happy to have them all at my wedding. Unfortunately my FI and I can't afford the guest list they're going to throw at me. I know I can't ask them for $$ but can I tell them that we can't afford their 200 person guest list and ask them to cut it back? AKA if you want to invite this many people you can, but you need to throw some cash our way because we simply cannot afford to feed all of these people?
