get to know me/ help me make a bio

Reading through the love thread got me thinking that I've been lurking long enough.

But I have no idea how to make a bio website or how to put a pic of our wedding in my sig.

Help? Does anyone care?

Re: get to know me/ help me make a bio

  • Go to weebly.com.  It's really easy to make a bio through there.  They have the templates all ready, you just pop in the words and pictures.

  • Yup. Weebly is easy to set up. If you want to add to your sig... click on "Update Signature" on the left and it will give you a text box. You'll need an HTML tag for the photo you want to use; Google can help if you don't know HTML or we can too. :)
  • baystate covered the website

and for the picture, upload your picture to photobucket.. they provide the code that you just need to copy and paste into your signature (hint: reduce the picture size first or else you'll have a MASSIVE sig - lol)  if you need more details on how to do this just ask

If Picasa generates an HTML code for the photo, that should work fine. Otherwise, save the picture to your desktop (right click it and that should be an option in the menu), and then upload it to PhotoBucket to generate your code.

  • gahh!!! well weebly is going slow on this computer and I dont know where all the pics are that I want to use, so that will have to wait.

In the meantime, I added a link to our wedding slideshow that our photog made (thanks for the basic html help, ak!)  its on youtube, so not sure if everyone can open it.

So, who wants to play "ask a knottie anything"?!
  • I'll play!

parker- You have 791 posts; why do you say you've been lurking??
  • By lurking I mean not getting involved in board drama.  I really could care less about a board war or calling people out on a message board, or telling someone they suck for asking a stupid question.  Although, I do think that a lot of the questions asked on here are really stupid, I still get a kick out of reading them even though I won't participate.

I've mostly been posting on actual E questions or on my local or Jewish brides when people have wedding questions.  Now that the wedding's over, I realized I'm kind of additcted to checking out the posts everyday!

  • Parker, just watched your slideshow...your hairpiece was gorgeous! You had a lovely wedding. :)

Gotcha! Yeah, I still try not to get involved in any drama. There's nobody here (or on any board on TK) who I particularly dislike. I see no reason to start up a High School-esque fight over something stupid. Although I will participate in FFF; and stand up for myself if I have to. But that's all in good fun. :)

Tell me about your wedding! When was it? I haven't checked out your slide show yet (can't at work) but I will when I get home!

I loved the headband soooo much.  It was worth every penny!
  • thanks Jill!

    Ok all about our wedding--

We wanted it to be about things we loved:  Family, Friends, good Food, good liquor, good music.  The night completely exceeded our expectations.

I wasn't that involved in the actual planning of the wedding; my mom took care of finding the vendors, booking everything, and working with the wedding planner.  I'm so glad she did that because the little things were stressing me out too much.  She doesn't have a full time job and she is soooo creative, so she took our ideas and made them so incredible!

H and I cared about 2 things:  the food, and the band.  So we picked out the band and hand-picked what songs we wanted them to play.  The food, we had to use the caterer at the synagogue, but we didn't want a 3 course black tie wedding.  And we are both vegetarian.  So we instead did family style.  It was a HUGE hit!  We served this gorgeous bib salad, salmon, eggplant rollatinis, farfalle with pesto, and green beans.  everything tasted incredible, which is sometimes hit-or-miss with a kosher caterer.  We also had a 40 foot chocolate filled table instead of a cake

H was very particular about what songs we walked down the aisle to.  We had a classical guitarist and cellist playing his favorite Phish and Pink Floyd songs.  My mom and his mom were a little worried about it being too "rock" but it sounded gorgeous, if you ddin't know the song you would just think it was this beautiful harmony being played.  Magical.

We also don't like cake that much, so we opted out.  We wanted a rice krispy cake instead, but couldn't have it because marshmallows are not kosher! (who knew?)  so, we made our own and had it at the rehearsal dinner.  I think I'm starting a new trend with this one.  It was so amazing.  Here's a pic:

check out the hockey player and number one fan cake topper!

Our rehearsal dinner was at skyline chilli.  200 of our closest out of towners and it was amazing.  so laid back and just our style.

In all, the wedding was the best day of my life so far!  We partied with 315 of our closest friends and family, and really cared about everyone who was there.  The whole weekend was about bringing our two families together and how much we love each other and I think everyone felt it!
