Hostess gifts?

I want to give my shower hostesses thank you gifts. Do I need to give them at the time of the shower, or is it acceptable to have something delivered to them a few days later?

I agree the shower is ideal, but if there's something you're dying to give your hostesses that needs to be delivered later, I guess you could give them a card or note or something to thank them at the shower and have the real gift delivered later.

Shower is good, just not in front of everyone. Before or after.

Thanks, ladies. I was thinking of having an edible arrangement delivered, but I think I'll find something else that I can give them on the day of.
