F/U: Mom's Disability

My mom won her disability appeal today!  It was the best news we could have gotten this year.  It is such a relief. She has been battling the agency since October 2007.

Turns out at her last physical she was declared disabled (partial foot amputation and diminished eyesight), but some bureaucrat overrode the SSA doctor without ever examining her.

She will officially be retired in January and after her eye surgery she'll be moving in with me and FI.  I'm just happy all around!

I mentioned this earlier and wanted to share the good news! :)

Sadly, me too!  I also remember McDonald's Value Meals.  You know with the big cardboard boxes with the cutouts for the fries and drinks.  I'm laughing at myself for just typing this!
  • Thanks Beatle!

  • Thanks, Squirrly!
  • that is great news, I'm happy for her..

I sure hope it doesn't take that long for me.

I don't understand how they could have made her wait and fight so long for them to filially give her the approval.

Clearly she should have been approved way sooner. But in the long run can't change it now..

That is wonderful news now, no more fighting and all the stress in waiting.. I completely understand that.

good luck for her with the surgery and best wishes...

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
