Thank You Notes

Does anyone know how in the world to write thank you notes for giftcards?!

Granted, it's late, but the best I can come up with is something a long the lines of "Thanks, can't wait to spend it on stuff no one else got us."

Ok, so maybe it's late with a dash of me being sick of addressing envelopes.

Thoughts?

Re: Thank You Notes

  • I think that pretty much covers it.  Thank them so much for their thoughtful gift, you can't wait to use it. You've had your eye on "X" thing for a while and can't wait to finally get it.

  • Dear Aunt Sue,

Thank you so much for the generous gift card to BB&B. We are planning to spend it on one of the serving pieces for our formal china. I can't wait to display it at my first dinner party/when I host a holiday meal. It was so nice to see you at the wedding (or we missed seeing you at the wedding). I hope all is well in (wherever Aunt Sue lives).

    Love/Best Wishes,

    Bride
  • Dear Cousin Judy,

Thank you so much for the generous gift card to Amazon.com. We are both just starting to learn how to cook, and we plan to buy some easy to follow cookbooks to get us started. The neighbors may start to worry if DH sets the fire alarm off one more time with his burnt bacon! It was so nice to see you at the wedding/we missed seeing you at the wedding, you are always so much fun on the dance floor!

    Best Wishes,

    Bride
  • (yes, I am bored and can't sleep)
  • Agree with PP - stating something specific that the GC will be used for is often nice so the giver knows how it will be spent and how much you appreciate it. [:
