Wedding Program

I'm designing our wedding programs right now and would like to place the order tonight.

I'm ordering them from David's Bridal and they are in booklet form. On the insdie right I have wedding party, and on the inside left, I have wedding ceremony.

My only problem is that when I put "Processional.....Unchained Melody" I don't have enough room on that line to put that it's by The Righteous Brothers. Same thing for Bridal Porcessional...Canon in D" by Pachelbel.

I thought it was illegal to put the song without the artist, or am I crazy? Should I just put processional and leave out the song?

Re: Wedding Program

  • I believe it is only illegal to not denote the artist when you are trying to sell or share their music without their knowledge.

In your program you should be fine not listing the artists/groups name next to the song.

  • Are you able to put the name of the artist on the next line?
    EX:

    Processional.....................Unchained Melody
                                     The Righteous Brothers

    Bridal Processional.......................Canon in D
                                                            Pachelbel

If not, I would just skip the artist name. I don't think that it is egregious enough to warrant an investigation, but I do agree with PP that it is probably only enforced if you are marketing the songs and making a profit.

<div>I was a music business major- you do not have to put the artist's name if you are not doing it for profit.  I'd suggest putting it in italics on the line below the song if you feel that people should know.</div>
