Our dinner will be buffet style, but the venue needs the headcount of both the adults and the children to know how much food to make. Is there a way to tactfully word the RSVP to more or less "how many adults are attending and how many child meals will we need to account for"? All of the children coming get a chicken fingers meal. However, I obviously don't want to be paying for a plate for a 2 year old who is going to be eating off their parent's plate either.
