soo I made a mistake

I was helping my mom order the shower invitations online since she is clueless with things like that and I just checked the order (which has been shipped and delivered) because my mom wanted to make sure I put down a phone number for RSVP (she hasn't seen them yet since my brother picked up their mail when they weren't home). Well I did, but I put mine down by accident. I'm not too stressed about it because, well I don't feel like my mom spending more money on invitations because of it, but I feel like an idiot. • That stinks, but it's really NBD.  She could always cross out the number and write the right one if she wanted.  Or print them out on labels or something.

  • Don't be too hard on yourself, mistakes happen. Just make sure to work out a plan of communication with your mom if you need to in terms of incoming RSVPs.

  • whoopsie.  If I were you I'd go to a party store and buy some cheap invites where you write in the correct info.  Or you can order from Vista Print which typically has cheap invites.  I wouldn't send them out with your phone number.

ZOMG now people are going to think you're hosting your own shower!!!!!!!

It's not that big of deal.  You can buy cheap invitations from somewhere else, correct it on the invitation, or just get the RSVPs and pass them on to your mom.

  • I don't think its a big deal if you have to leave it. Can you put something over to change it? Maybe hand write the correct # on a small piece of cardstock and glue it over? For example, if the invite was a fall theme, you could cut out little leaves with the correct #? Probably a pain, but that's what I'd do. I don't think you need new invites.
  • Yeah, I'm going to have my mom look at them and see what she can do.(label and whatnot) I know she doesn't want to spend more money and I don't have it right now to pay for it (since it was my mistake) since I haven't started my new job yet. Luckily the guest list is only like 20 people so RSVP's won't be too complicated if they do call me. On the plus side of this, if I do get the RSVP's its a perfect time to catch up with friends and family since I've moved.  I imagine most of my friends would have called/told me they were coming anyway despite what the RSVP says. I just can't believe I did it though.

  • I'm glad that it's not that big of a deal. Since I've been planning this is the only slip up, so not too bad :)

  • If it makes you feel better, I spelled joyfully wrong on our RSVP cards (something stupid like jyoflly).  Since it was totally noticeable I did have to order new ones.  Face meet palm.

I think you are OK.  Just work out a communication plan with your mom.

  • My mom just called me. Apparently I did have the right of mind to correct it and changed it prior to the final approval :)
