It's official... We are going to New Orleans.

Yikes.. I'm so excited yet sad at the same time.

Too bad if have to work.. We have an expensive bottle of wine we saved for this day (a gift from a guest).

Although DH couldn't drink it anyway.  I just came back from the doctor's office with him.  He cut off part of his finger.

  • Did they...put it back? Or was it just a little bit? How much are we talking her?

But yay about the job! What's the time line? And did he get his current salary (that you said was at their low end) or did they up it any? Any relocation help? I can't imagine it's going to be cheap!

Congrats to you two! Hope your H heals quickly. Mine can sympathize: apparently he sliced himself up doing this dishes after getting home from work. Not a good day for him, it seems.
  • I'm excited.  I've never been to NOLA.   Now I have to find a place to live, a job, new friends, rent/sell this place.   It's just so overwhelming.

DH will start on or around June 12 (after the big $1m wedding).  I might stay until mid-late Aug.  I make good money during that time and I have friends/family already coming down.

  • Yay, I'm so happy for you guys! I know leaving isn't 100% positive, but at least you know where you're going now, and it's a place you're reasonably excited about. Hope your H's finger heals fast.
  • Oh, have you shared about that big wedding before?

</div><div>DH threw it away.   It's more that it was deep enough to take off the whole nail, but not the whole tip.  Nothing to stitch really.</div><div>
</div><div>Salary it's more, plus the bonus is up to 40% and they have gotten bonus every year.  Relocation help, yes..  But not sure exactly what it is yet.  I know we get 30 days at the hotel and movers, plane tickets.  Also a signing bonus to help get set up.

</div><div>I did.. It was a point of contention with Phoenix  The GM here said DH could not go until after that.  DH is the reason the wedding is at this property, so it's important he be here.   </div><div>
</div><div>DH is also in a wedding Memorial Day weekend here, so we do not have to worry about that either.

</div><div>Not really.  I did with Phoenix and it fell through.  So I've been shy about doing it for NOLA.</div><div>
</div><div>I have 2+ hour break tonight while the guests are at dinner.  i'm brining the Ipad to do some research tonight.</div><div>
</div><div>Our friends (the ones whose wedding is Memorial day weekend) are moving to College Station TX.  We are excited to be closer to them.  He loves NOLA and will visit often.   They already setup a room for us in their new home.   (remember 7 hour drive is easier than an all day plane ride, so it's 'close' for us)
