Rehearsal

I understand the census is that the WP is only expected to show up and dressed on the wedding day.

Is it reason to feel upset if members of the WP don't show up to the rehearsal because they don't feel it is necessary?

I ask because we are already hearing certain members of the WP saying that rehearsing just to "walk" is a waste of time.

[QUOTE]I think it's not worth getting upset over this.  If you want to have a rehearsal even without any major ceremony logistics to figure out, then just make a joke about how you don't mind a good practice walk every once in a while if anyone complains directly to you.  Keep in mind that if you just want to get everyone together, you can have a rehearsal dinner without bothering with a rehearsal. If no one is saying this to your face, just write it off as people will complain about anything and everything--I definitely have friends that are like this, and I've just learned to develop a thicker skin.<strong>  Do you really think that people would no show without telling you (which I would get upset about)?

I have one BM that did that at our WP meet and greet we hosted. She said she was coming to dinner after work (8pm). I didn't hear from her until 11pm. I understand that things happen but why not text me to say you can't make it once 8pm rolled around and you're still working?

I'm not going to get upset if people can't come to rehearsal but I will feel disappointed.

Well, I've been in a few weddings and the rehearsal is always the same. That being said, I always attended, but I know people who missed it due to work, traveling etc. it was not a big deal to tell them everything the day of the wedding. ETA: I wouldn't even be disappointed if they don't come. It happens.

  • Although rehearsals are a walk thru and no if one missed  it would not  ruin your big day, unless the ones who missed were traveling to your event, working or some sort of emergency.  I would be terribly hurt and I must be honest somewhat upset.  Knowing that you have more than likely put alot of time and energy with the planning and have chose those who mean the most to you.  That being said they should take that in consideration and want to be there regardless.
