Separate Thank Yous For Various Things

I started a spreadsheet to keep track of gifts so I can get Thank Yous out. I started one for the shower and one for the wedding.

However, how do I go about doing this:

To BMs and our parents for throwing the shower: Small gift (jewelry) that day, with a card, and sending a cookie bouquet (found a great groupon!)
If BMs get me a gift at the shower: Separate thank you card.
Any wedding gifts: separate thank you card

That's all well and good and I think it's cool (yeah?), but I also have all these people offering to make cookies for the wedding.* I can't really write a thank you YET for that, and won't be able to until after the wedding, because that's when they will show up with cookies. When that happens, do they get a separate card for cookies they baked and another card for their wedding present (if they bring one)?

Either way is fine, but I want these ladies to know how much I appreciate them baking for me.

*This is apparently a thing around here, and I told them they didn't have to--and I didn't ask anyone. But I guess you offer to bake cookies for weddings here. I was a little worried from an etiquette standpoint about letting people do that, but my mom has told people ok, so it is happening.

Re: Separate Thank Yous For Various Things

  • "Dear so-and-so, thank you for the [gift]. We can't wait to use it in our new home! We also wanted to thank you for baking cookies for our wedding--the cookie table was such a nice treat, and it was sweet of you to get involved. We're thrilled we were able to see you at the wedding and hope to share many more happy occasions with you!"

At least, that's what seems logical...
  • I think one is fine for the cookies/wedding gift but the others should get separate.
  • I was just about to ask if you lived in Pittsburgh, because I've heard that cookies are tradition there, but it looks like you're in WV (which, with my limited DC geography, is somewhat in the region).  If it were me, I'd include their TK for bringing cookies with their overall wedding gift, if they give one.

Yup--about an hour away. I've both lived and worked there, FI works there now.
  • I am originally from that area too, Weirton, WV. I always just say Pittsburgh area since no one knows where it is lol. Anyways, cookie tables are def a thing there and you will be so happy you said yes, they are delish! My advice is also to just give one thank you for them. If they however, do not bring a gift I would make sure they got a thank you for the cookies! You could always say "Thanks for the blender and the cookies you made!" I mean, much more classy like and all but you get the point. ;) P.S. your sig pic is AWESOME!
