upset and confused

I am getting married at the courthouse then we are having a very small reception for about 50 friends and family. We are getting married on my fiance's birthday. On the invitation response card I simply wrote that we will also be celebrating his Birthday. This was a date that is special to both of us.
My very best friend got the invite today and proceeded to tell me how wedding days are all about the bride and that he should celebrate his Birthday another day.

I am very hurt by her comments. Its just a big celebration. Again, the party is very informal. Was I wrong?

    I lol'd

Birthdays only come around once a year. Your husband (or anyone) shouldn't have to celebrate it on a different day just because it's the same day as a wedding.

Just like you shouldn't have to celebrate the day of your wedding just because it's your husband's birthday.

It's pretty much always going to be someone's birthday or anniverary or what ever... your friend needs to get over it, sorry but it's true.
