Opinion - grown children vs young children

Hey Ladies. I highly value your opinon. Both FI and I have aunts and uncles who both have grown children (our age) and young children (under 13). Do you guys think that there is a problem with invinting grown children (on their own invitation of course) but only invite their parents (and not add "and family") and exclude their young siblings?

Re: Opinion - grown children vs young children

  • Etiquette wise its fine.

However, in my family dynamics it would cause some hurt feelings.  So we just invite all first cousins regardless of age.   All of my first cousins are older and had SO's, that meant I had twice the family guest list as my cousins had when they invited me to their wedding as a child.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
