So I'm getting married in one month tomorrow (!!!) and had sent invites about 3-4 weeks ago and my RSVP date is March 26th. I've gotten about 1/2 of my invites back so far. My venue has a minimum guarantee of 125 guests and hold 170. We ended up inviting close to the maximum the venue could hold and I felt really uncomfortable with this since I wanted a smaller wedding (130ish) and I heard horror stories about people anticipating people not coming and they all came! Since we were at max capacity, we had to cut a few people at the last min that we wanted to invite but didn't have the room-- we never verbally invited them nor sent them STD, but were orginally hoping too.
Now that I am getting back invites slowly, I'm anticipating to be under my minimum by 10-15 or so! (I have a lot of OOT guests that won't be making the trip) I would hate to pay for people that weren't there when they are people we would love to be there. However, do you think it would be rude to send them an invitation now? The RSVP date is 10 days away! I really don't want to insult anyone. Should I just keep it at a smaller wedding and pay for un-use food? Thoughts?
Thanks!!!
