Place cards??

Anyone have ideas on how to write out the placecards for a reception? I have some people with one kid, so is it Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Johnny? Some people have two, so is it Mr. and Mrs. Smith and family or and children, or the Smith Family? What about Mr. Smith who brings his daughter and a guest? Any web sites or info will be greatly appreciated!!

Re: Place cards??

  • I'm just doing one for each person. Probably just first names, not titles, so:

    John Smith
    Mary Smith
    Jack Smith

    All on different cards. HTH.

I did Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Jonny and Sue.  "and Jonny and Sue's" names were on the second line and the table number on the third line.
  • If Mr. Smith iks bringing his daughter and she is bringing a date, I would probably give Mr. Smith his own card. Then a separate place card write Ms. Sue Smith and "guest first last name"
  • Yeah, we're doing 1 card per 1 person, too. But we're also having plated dinners and will be color-coding the placecards to help the waitstaff figure out who is getting what meal. So we've got 2 reasons for doing it that way.
