Ring bearer pillow or no?

Hi ladies,

My wedding is a year away but I've been thinking about the Ring Bearer who is my FI godson, who will be 11 at the time of the wedding.  The flower girl who is my goddaughter will be 7 so we thought it would be cute to pair them together.  However, I am not a big fan of the ring bearer pillow, since technically they don't really carry the rings, the best man does.  Plus, he'll be 11 and probably think he's too cool to carry a pillow lol.  My flower girl is not carrying a basket, she will have flower ball bouquet.   I figured no pillow, but is that ok?

Your thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think that's fine and will look great!  Our ring bearer will be 8, a little younger, but we're not doing the pillow thing either.  He'll have a little bout and just walk down next to the flower girl as well.  I think the pillow's a little outdated anyway.

Give him a little bout and have him walk with the flower girl - he'll be adorable.

And, um, technically he should be carrying the rings.  That whole "ring bearer" title and all.  Lots of people don't trust their ring bearers, but I'd trust an 11 year old to get them from one end of the aisle to the other and hand them to the best man.

I've seen lots of (older) ring bearers carry the rings btw.

Taylor, I agree that the pillow is a little outdated.  He's definately carrying a bout.  He's already said he'd be nervous to carry the rings, and he's known for dropping things, so the rings will be safe with the best man

I like the idea of having him wear a boutonniere. I don't trust my 3 year old nephew with our rings, but knew that he would want to carry something since his big sister will have flowers, so we're having him carry this:

Our Ring Bearer will be 5, loves legos and we hated every pillow we found. So we ordered the legos and when they come in we'll make it with him.
