I have a very weird great uncle, definitely the black sheep of our family. He is stuck in the 1960's and is very much a hippie. He has a long unkempt beard and long hair, his hygiene is questionable and he dresses like a homeless person even though he is not.
I only see him at the Christmas holidays. He tends to give awkward lingering hugs that are very uncomfortable (he's by no means a molester or anything just really weird). Last year he wrote a very long very boring poem to share with everyone that didn't make sense and didn't have anything to do with Christmas. He writes his own songs and sings them at family parties and he is an awful singer, it's a family joke. When I was younger he came to my moms after the party and started singing us a song he didn't know the words too and drooling all over his guitar because he was so wasted.
I invited him to the wedding and I'm already a little nervous about how he will behave in front of my future in laws. He isn't in a serious relationship and he will have a lot of family there that he knows. The last time he brought a guest, it was a girlfriend that made an inappropriate comment to my 11 year old niece and my sister nearly kicked her ass at Thanksgiving.
Should I let it slide and just move on like it's no big deal or would you guys do something about it? (also I'm already not thrilled about how much our guest list has grown and want to keep this as small as possible at this point.)
