Random cogitations.

What are you thinking about today?

-I don't understand why seafood doesn't count as meat in so many situations.

-I'm a technology idiot, and realized recently that things like television, internet, and even telephones are kind of equal to magic in my head. No matter how it is explained to me, I don't understand how tangible things become digital. I don't even understand really how a phonograph works. Don't even get me started on anything wireless. That really IS magic.

- I wonder if H will get me anything for Valentines Day.

- Every now and then I want to create a new SN and completely start over, sharing far fewer details and having a better nickname, but then no one would know it was ME. I know that's kind of the point, but oh well.
Leo says hi. He's...special.
In Response to Re: Random cogitations. : HAH! Have you ever watched The IT Crowd? Seriously, if you haven't seen it you need to watch it. It's crazy British comedy and I laugh so damn hard when I watch it. The first episode is a woman trying to get a job as an IT manager when she barely knows how to use a computer. Hee!

-I think FI is slightly scared to marry because of my student loan debt, I'm in the process of starting to pay my loans...and I think financial-joining is hitting him....Hard.

-I found a shyt ton of paper at Hobby Lobby today with their 50% off sale and I bought a LOT... I'm anxious to start wedding "projects" but it's eff-ing early :-P

-I'm ready to get my drank on tonight when I get off...it's been the longest week of my life!

Posted by tlv204
I was talking about this exact thing the other day with H. If someone were to throw me on an island with enough parts and means for constructing each of these items, I wouldn't have the faintest clue in the world how to do it. It would take me awhile to figure out more basic things, like how to grow my own food etc, for that matter! I am so clueless when it comes to SO many aspects of life- yeah, I can tell you how to run a regression analysis and how to write an academic paper, but I would be completely hopeless if I was required to construct a building so that I had a roof over my head.

It seems sort of bizarre and ignorant to think that almost everything I rely upon is so mysterious to me. H is a diabetic, and if for some reason all the chemists in the world were to disappear, I would guess that he'd probably die rather quickly because there's no way on earth I could figure out how to extract insulin from a pig (let alone make synthetic insulin) to give to him! The amount of specialist knowledge out there which we as humans have constructed constantly floors me.

FI and I LOVE The IT Crowd! You are the only other person I've come across that has even heard of it. We watch it on Netflix streaming but we're about to run out of those episodes. Is it on BBC?
