New Year's Wedding

Hi Everyone,

My fiance and I just decided (this) to get married on New Year's Eve this year.  CRAZY!  

We are planning to get married in New York City or New Jersey.

I wish I could hire a planner but when I found out it would cost me $20k-$25k for a wedding of 100 people.  I was shocked.  I also asked about day planner and I was told it would cost me $5k.   Ugh    So I have to do everything on my own.

Please recommend DJ, photographer, cake, hair, makeup, wedding officiate, everything and everybody.    Whatever you think I would need, please recommend!

I cannot take off from work so I need everyone's help.

I used Madison Affairs as a day-of coordinator and it cost a lot less then $5k.  For video, you may want to look into IMR Films.  I just posted my reviews of my wedding on page 2 if you want to take a look at my vendors.

The quotes for the planner and DOC seem REALLY high. I had a DOC and I didn't pay that much. What were you hoping to spend in that area?

I hired a wedding planner for less than $5k for day of and assistance leading up to the big day. It is Pampered Bride Weddings. You can always call and ask. I have listed all the vendors I have booked so far below. My wedding is not until next May so I really can't say based off experience. But I think they have all been previously used by knotties and received postitive reviews. I would also use the search feature and look up recent posts as ladies always leave their wedding reviews and answer recommendation questions.

For the venue, I'd personally book a restaurant. However, you may get some killer deals from reception halls if they don't already have NYE booked.

Also, keep in mind that NYE is a premium date, so you may see some high charges. But, again, if they're not booked by now then they might be offering a discount.

I'm also working with a DOCfor less than $5k. I'm working with Monique of Pampered Bride Weddings.  My wedding is April and so far everyone I've been working with has been absolutely fantastic!

Call everyone.  Good luck getting vendors on such short notice.  But if you're successful I bet you can get some killer deals.

Vendors and halls all charge a premium for a New Years eve wedding. With all the New Year eve parties out there that are already booked, the toughest find will be a venue and a DJ.
