When you post something there is the button to 'watch the thread' so whenever anyone posts a reply to the thread you get an email that has the response and who it's from with a direct link to the thread

...on the new knot format it just says 'watch' in capital letters in green

Oh - thanks - NO - I turned off all my FB notifications too - I can't stand when i get an email about how someone else commented on a photo I commented on - I just come here or to FB if I want to see an update.

HOW do you turn off the FB mobile messages? That crap drives me bananas I get them consistently allllll day long I can't stand it

I don't have FB phone setup, but I would imagine it's similar to stopping email notifications - go to your application settings / privacy settings.
