so, i want to start a blog......does it really need to be geared towards ONE idea? several that i have seen tend to be geared towars one idea......wedding, baby, artist, etc...there is just so much going on in our lives right now and i think this would just be a cool idea.....the other hard part.....naming it???

I felt the same when I started a blog - I wanted to include wedding planning, but we had also just gotten a puppy and I'd been helping FMIL with gardening as well, so I wrapped all three of those into one!  Name it something fun or something that is meaningful to you.  Let me know if you have questions or need help with anything.  I would recommend Blogger but I don't have experience using any other Blogs.  HTH!

I don't keep a blog (although I keep considering starting one ) but I read a lot of them and the most interesting ones just discuss all sorts of things! :)

I think that the general opinion is that if you want your blog to get big (read by hundreds of thousands of people), then yes, you need to focus on one topic.  Think frugality and money tips - The Simple Dollar or Get Rich Slowly, mommy blogging - Dooce, blogging tips - ProBlogger.  The list goes on and on. However, it doesn't sound like you want to do that so I say make it about anything that you want.  That's what I do an what many others do as well.  It is a fun way to document your life and I have been astounded at how many people across the country (and the world) read my blog.  I don't know anyone living in Southern California, but I appear to have a few dedicated readers there.  Its pretty cool.  I absolutely think you should start one, it is a lot of fun!  Make sure to link to it in your siggy so that we can all read along!

Yeah - I blog about mainly nothing - but I include recipes, crafts stuff, life events, branching out to book reviews soon.  Name it something silly and fun.  I would totally read it :)

I blog food. It has some tasty benefits :) I was on blogger, but was getting frustrated with the formatting. When I get back up and running, I'm going to give wordpress a try!

Lusher - I'm switching to WordPress too.  Blogger always screws up my picture formatting. So excited to hear that you will be picking it back up soon...I was just wondering about that a couple of days back.

I did a wedding planning blog and it really helped me keep my thoughts together, but now I write a newlywed blog and talk about whatever! Although, admittingly, I don't keep up with it as well :-/
