Bridal gown shopping suggestions

So I've been shopping 3 times and have found a dress that i really really really like. i'm not saying "love" because i feel like there are a few other dress shops i would like to hit before committing to the dress. so my question is when does it become dress overload. my fear is that i'm going to really really really like a couple of other dresses and then have the hard decision to make. so since i found this one, should i stop or just keep going?

It's different for everyone. I went to one shop, tried on about 8 dressed, thought about it for a weekend, went back and ordered the dress I loved 18 months before my wedding and didn't think twice about it. I loved my dress (but hated my shop). It's just personal preference, if you don't feel like you're done, then keep looking, but if you really think you've found *the* dress, then I'd say stop before you go crazy! :)

I really think it's up to you. I went to one store, tried on about 10 dresses, and knew that "the one" was there. I didn't think twice about going to look around at other places. I do think that you can drive yourself crazy if you keep thinking that there might be another dress out there. If you find one that you really love, then get it.

i only went to two places. i went to kleinfeld first and was convinced i found my dress, but didn't buy because i couldn't justify spending so much money on something i would wear once. anyways, i went to the next store and yet again thought i found the dress. i ended up buying that one because i knew i would still like it a lot when my wedding came, but i felt like i would keep finding "the dress" in every store i went to.so i guess it is up to you. if you really feel like it is your dress then buy it, but don't do something you will regret either. sorry that wasn't more helpful. goodluck!

I knew it was the dress for me because that was the only dress where I didn't find a feature that I disliked. With all the other dresses that I thought could be contenders, I always had a thought like, "I don't like the train" or "If only this wasn't as poufy" or "This makes me look heavy but maybe it's just the sample."

I kinda went a little crazy at the end of my shopping, but I think I had to go through that to KNOW that my dress was "the one." I love, love, love my dress, but I went to a few other shops after I tried it on. I couldn't be 100 percent sure this one was perfect until I knew that every other dress I tried on just didn't cut it.

keep going, and hopefully the rest of the ones you see will confirm that you really like the first one.

I'm just the opposite of the pp.  I saw my dress on a website, searched all over creation for it and knew if I loved it when I saw it, it would be the one.   Well, I adored it the second I put it on and never tried anymore on.  Go with your gut!

My advice is to bring your best girls with you, and go with the one that WOWs them the most.  You might not ever have the, "omg this is the one!" feeling, and that is ok too.  It's very overwhelming!  Go with your gut, and trust your friends.  I went with the one that my friends said, "oh that's such a Dani dress! It's just so you.".......If the dress is not exactly what you want, see if they are willing to work with you, with alterations and such, to change it up a bit.

I really tried on A LOT of dresses.  I thought I found the one, but something told me to keep searching.  I did and then found The Real One!  I knew then-  If your not sure and you have time keep looking-  It will only strengthen your decision if it's right or change it if you find another dress!

I have a hard time making decisions so knowing that I only went to 2 stores, I knew that if I went to more than that I'd have a hard time choosing, I found my dress in the 2nd store and it was about the 5th one I tried on. Sometimes going to too many stores they start to all look the same, so you might want to limit yourself a little bit.

I went shopping over four days and nine stores.  I also spent A LOT of time hunting online. There were a couple of dresses that I tried to talk myself into because I was getting frustrated, but when I finally put on my dress it was like THIS IS IT!It might have helped that my mom totally freaked out and loved it as well.  All of the other ones I liked my mom hated and the ones she liked I laughed at.

Well, I adored it the second I put it on and never tried anymore on. This didn't work for me the first time ... I found an all-lace dress on the Maggie Sottero website and searched for a salon that carried it, but once I put it on it was clear that it wasn't working (I posted it here, if any of you remember). I think I tried to talk myself into it because I had loved it online and wanted it to work in real life. But then I went back online and found a dress that had the features I DID like from the lace one, minus the lace, and that one was it. I had probably seen it on the website a dozen times before that and kept passing it over, thinking it wasn't what I wanted.

I found my dress on a knottie's webpage.  It just looked so much better on her than it did on the model on the designer's website.  I had the picture saved for months but there was only one store in NJ that carried it.  For some reason I thought my mom would HATE my dress, so I sort of put off trying it on.  When I went to the store they couldn't even find the sample at first and I was ready to freak when they finally found it in the BASEMENT of the store. LOL, must have been a big seller!
