Door prize?

I just got a notification that I won the door prize at the American Bride Bridal show at the Wilshire Grand..... It doesn't say what it is but it says I need to pick it up "in person". Is it worth traveling to show to pick up said "prize?" I feel like I'm gonna get there and its gonna be like a pen or something! Anyone else get an e-mail like this and is it a "real" prize?

i was at an american bride show and the girl showed up who won that door prize - turns out it was a consultation with a hair and makeup person - she was annoyed she came to middletown all the way from cranford - it may or may nto be worth it

It sounds like it's just their way of getting people to go to the show...

I won a prize from a bridal show before.  We had to view a presentation before we got vouchers for free hotel stay.  And, you're not obligated to purchase what they're presenting.  Luckily it was interesting so traveling far wasn't so bad.  That reminds me, I don't even remember where I put the vouchers. lol

I absolutely wouldn't go unless they told you what it was and they discussed any strings attached (and the strings were worth it to you).  A lot of these "prizes" are really enticements to get you to buy something.

I got a message yesterday about a prize I won at the WG show...which I registered for but never actually went to.  They said I'd have to sit through a "presentation with no obligation to buy" about kitchen gadgets for an hour and a half and then I could claim my prize.  I don't want to be a naysayer...but I don't trust them.

I won a door prize that i had to pick up in parsippany which was literally on my way home from work so i did swing by to pick it up.  It was a hallmark honeymoon frame with a beach/palm trees.  Not my style.
