Just got the weirdest wedding thank you

For a wedding we went to on July 25th (holy quickness).  anyway, its on plain cardstock stationary with the bride and grooms' first names at the top, and the body of it does not use the word 'wedding' at all.  it just says things that allude to the wedding "thank you so much for making the trip to celebrate with us." but the weirdest part--its signed "love, bride's name"...no groom's name.  Odd. Regardless, I'm still jealous that their thank you's are sent!  Ours are still hanging over our heads!

That is really fast.  I did not put "wedding" in my thank you's.  I said thank you for your generous gift and helping us to celebrate. That is a bit odd she did not add his name but she probably forgot.  I know I almost did on a few...oops.

I can tell you that when I am sitting there, writing these thank you cards, getting hand cramps, and DH is sitting next to me watching the Yankee's game, providing no help, I am tempted to sign them with just my name!

LOL Maybride!  that's hilarious!  I actually said to DH--"do you think she just forgot (to put his name)?" but he doesn't think she did, and neither do I.  they're very, let's just say "different" people.   I really need to get going on mine! we were just waiting for them to come in with the pictures. I soooo don't feel like it though!

I think you're actually supposed to sign it with only one name-- because only one person will actually write the note (unless you both write parts, which is weirder).  You're supposed to convey the jointness of the sentiment by writing "We love..." or "John and I can't wait to use..."

Yeah, I get what you're saying uppereast--and while gramatically it may be correct, it just looks strange written out.  and in a few lines, she only says "I" like "I hope you had a great time."  the overall vibe of the card that was kind of off.

I had problems with plural and singular for the more personally written notes.  I'd start off with we and then turn to I with certain references.Wouldn't it be funny if he sent his own thank yous out?

First, she's right on time with her thank you if the wedding was in July. Soon as possible is always best and much less than 6 months as some people think. Second, why would she sign her groom's name if he didn't write the note?
