Ring cleaning?

Does anyone know where I can get my e-ring professionally cleaned before the wedding?  I got my wedding band and when I put it next to my e-ring I can see it really needs to be professionally cleaned to look its best.  We didnt get my ring someplace that I can get it cleaned there.  I am not sure if any jewler can clean it or if anyone had suggestions.  Thanks in advance

We went to a mall jewelry store to look for a wedding band for FI (he didn't get my e-ring there), and the girl cleaned my e-ring right on the spot. It took less than 5 minutes and there was no charge and we didn't purchase anything.

Go back to the place where it was purchased, they should clean it for free.

FI got my e-ring online, and the store we got our bands from cleaned it for free. Any reputable jewelry store should do this.

My e-ring came through a private sale so that person doesnt have a set location and no ring cleaning services.  There is a mall near my work so I am going to see if I can get one of them to clean it, wasnt sure if they wouldnt because I didnt get it there but that doesnt appear to be the case from what you are saying

not to scare you but a friend warned me never to let them take it out of your site.  the diamond can easily and quickly be replaced with a CZ and you would never know it.

I was thinking the same thing, Kelly. The place I went to cleaned it right in front of me. Had she gone to take it in a back room or something, I would've said "forget it" and left.

i suggest cleaning it yourself with ammonia- i do it all the time, just use straight ammonia in a baby food jar or small tupperware w/ lid then shake really well and let it sit for while, also brush it with a soft tooth brush-  this is how my jeweler suggested i clean my ring...  then wash it off and if you hold it over a tea kettle it "steam" cleans it and it will look fabulous. i suggest  going to walter bauman to steam clean it if you have one in your area- when i went they let me go with them into the back while they steam cleaned it so that the ring was in my sight at all times... good luck

We got my ring from Zales and they offer free cleaning for life. Everytime I go in I just asked for my ring to be cleaned and they do it right in front of me and they have never even asked for my name to see if the ring is from there. So I would just go to the mall to any jewelry store and get it done. Don't let it out of your site.

Reputable jewelers will not let you leave the store without it, I brought mine to get sized a bit because it was just a little loose and he did it right in front of me and then cleaned it, when he cleaned it it was with a machine that was also right in front of me.  FI left the store to go next door and I had to stay (which I would have but they also told me)

I never thought of watching my ring while being cleaned.  The guy I bought my wedding bands from has steamed it a few times for me.  He's an old family friend though, so I have no worries. It is good advice in general though.

you can go to nearly any exchange and they'll do it for you for a few bucks.  do not use that cleaner in a jar stuff... it actually is not good for white gold at all.  ever since i stopped using it my rings stayed white.

When FI went to pick up my ring from sizing he asked about cleanings and jeweler said Windex works and most places use that..... (ready for all The Big Fat Greek Wedding jokes)
