Poll:Where Did You Get the Dress?

I've been looking at pictures and am pumped to go dress shopping!  Out of curiosity, where did you get your dress?  What was your experience?

I got mine in MA, where I live....but I went to both The Wedding Store at Liz Clinton in Andover and Sew N Sew bridal in Lafayette. Had good experiences at both.  Sew N Sew has all their gowns out for you to look through, The Wedding Store does not let you look through.

The Bridal Suite of Hamilton in Trenton.  http://www.thebridalsuiteofhamilton.com/I love it there.  It is by appt only so it is like you have the whole place to yourself...no fighting for mirror space or tons of other people around.  My girl really listened to what I liked and disliked and ended up suggesting the dress I got.  It was the best experience I had out of about 7 stores.

I got my dress at Kleinfeld's and loved the experience. Also, I got my Rehearsal Dinner dress at Priscilla of Boston in short hills. Rachel helped me and she was amazing.

1st Dress: Jon's Bridal by Susan, they were very nice to work with, but they don;t do alterations on-site, which I actually preferred anyway. 2nd Dress: Bridals by Sandra-Nazareth PA, I went there a couple of times and I had a great experience with them.  The visit when I found my dress, my bridal consultant was amazing.  I will be taking my girls there for there BM dresses.

I got my dress at Arlenes and had great customer service.  But, they botched the alterations on 2 BM dresses, forgot to do one and my straps slid all night.

i got my dress and the bm dresses at sandreen's in saddle brook... donna is awesome.....turns out the dress i had wanted didn't look good on me at all, and she pulled out a dress and it was perfect! definately had a "this is it" moment....she really knows her stuff and what would look good on your body type.... we also had a little issue with the bm dresses (2 came in wong) and one of my bms is in az, so we weren't sure how we were going to do her alterations....but she was home in the beginning of the month, unfortunately her's is one of them that came in wrong....so they're going to spend the whole day before the wedding making sure it's altered and fitted and ready to go....my alterations are included in the price and the girls are $45, but they might have raised the price of that, we might have been granfathered in at that price....

Russell's in Linden.  Alterations are included in the price of the dress and the wedding party gets a discount if they get their attire through them.

Kleinfeld - I had  a great experience there. I had a hard time making up my mind and Audrey and other staff members were incredibly patient and helpful. The designer of my dress, Pnina Tornai, was also there the day I bought my dress. I got to meet her and she took my measurements. it was an incredible experience!

I almost got mine at Park Ave in Verona but was going to Kleinfelds the next day. I wasn't planning on getting my dress at Kleinfelds but I did. I fell in love my dress and had a great experience.

RK Bridal in NY.  I went on the first Sunday in February 2009, it wasn't that busy.  I was able to try on more than 5 dresses.  People here say they allowed only 5, but I tried like 10.  The girl that was helping me (I don't remember her name) was very good and patient, even I got opionion from other ladies waiting.  I will recommend going during the week, it is very quite.  When I went to pick up the dress it was on a Friday around 1:00pm and was empty, only 2 people there trying dresses.Good luck!!!

I tried mine on at Bridal Garden.  They were fab but they were $400 more than Pearls Place so I ordered through Pearls.  THey are also great.

Kleinfeld as well--Pnina was there when I was there too and she got really piissed when I chose a Lazaro over hers--guess that's the trouble with the designers being at the store! Other than that, amazing experience!

How could she be pissed? They have two completly different styles. There was an episode on Say Yes to the Dress where she got pissed because she felt the another designer had made a knock off of her dress and insisted the girl get her dress and gave her a reduced price so she could afford it.
  • edited December 2011
She was piissed because she wanted to sell the first of that particular dress to get it "out there". It was a completely new style and she made a snide comment to my mom about how I could get Lazaro's dresses anywhere but only get hers at Kleinfeld. Well guess what lady, I came here for a dress and got one--just not yours! Ronnie and Mara were so upset that Lazaro himself is doing my fitting--thanks Pnina! haha

I saw that episode. Pnina seems very full of herself. And her dresses are so gaudy and tacky.
