Fairs & Festivals in Hunterdon

When I lived in Monmouth County (*tear drop rolls down for the memory*) I knew all of the fairs, festivals, etc. for the summer-- and there were a lot. Now I live in Lambertville in Hunterdon. Anyone know of any near here coming up?

I grew up there and I can say there are only a few things.  There is the Hunterdon County and 4H fair (http://www.co.hunterdon.nj.us/4hagfair.htm).  Usually it is around labor day weekend but it seems to be early this year.  Its at the fair grounds right down on 202 between 31 split and 29.Also something that most people recommend is the Quik Check Ballon festival at the Airport in Readington (http://www.balloonfestival.com/). But that has already happened this summer.Something to check out this fall are the festivals in Clinton.  Around Halloween there is the Haunted Mill festival where locals try to scare those who want to enter and there is a haunted hayride that goes through the grounds.  That is usually very popular and there are usually long lines to enter. The day after Thanksgiving is "Dickens Day" where there are musicians and others that dress up  (check out the Clinton website http://www.clintonguild.com/completecal.asp)I'm more familiar with the thing in the Clinton area.  The other thing that you may want to look into is Mercer County and things happening at Rider and TCNJ because they're only about 15-20 minutes from Lambertville.Hope this helps!

KathyMarie:  I live in Lambertville too!!  I cant believe it!!  I just recently moved into town (my FI is from here) but I know the 4-h fair is next week. Starts Wednesday night until Sunday I believe.  This is a big fair they have rides and stuff too which many 4H's dont.  The fair grounds up on 179 are always having craft shows and such. Maybe one day we can grab a drink!!

What about New Hope or Peddler's Village?  Just wait until the fall-- you live in a great area and there will be tons of fall stuff to do.  You also have a few wineries in the area, lots of stuff to do outdoors...

Kathy, we're sorta neighbors - I'm right outside of Clinton. Anywho - I've lived here for 20-something years and still don't know all the fairs/festivals to go to...but I'd second Beth's rec for tubing on the Delaware we actually just did it last week and it was a lot of fun, like $22 for 5 hours of tubing including lunch. New Hope/Peddler's Village is GREAT!!!! They have awesome food choices, great walking, window shopping and just being outdoors summer/fall/winter/spring anytime is good The balloon festival is great - but yes it has passed The Warren Co. Fair is the 7/25ish-8/1 or so (again passed but just fyi) You could always hit up Sesame Place!! lol

My sister lives in Lambertville. I know that every year around Halloween, the town and New Hope tend to do a lot for Halloween. New Hope is very nice. I think there is a Haunted House tour or something like that. My sister said that she went and it was fun and interesting. Peddler's Village is close by with an awesome Coach outlet that often has great sales.
