Branch centerpieces

Does anyone know about how much something like this would cost? I'm meeting with the florist at the end of the month. Just trying to brace myself and avoid giving her the sticker shock face.

This is a really beautiful centerpiece! I don't know what the actual cost usually runs but its not the branch itself that is the most expensive part. Its the flowers that are attached and the labor it takes to attach them. It looks like there are roses and orchids on there. The orchids are usually a more expensive flower. Your florist should be able to work with you to keep the costs down by using a less expensive flower.

I have no valuable input, because I know nothing about flower prices.  But have to put my two cents in.That's some serious stuff!  I love that.  It looks like a real blooming tree.  I thought I liked the branches with the beady things hanging from them, but now that I see this, I like it much better.  Very whimsical and elegant.  I want one.  lol  If someone leaves theirs at the table, call me and I'm coming to pick it up.

Those are manzanita branches which are really expensive. I ordered them myslef and make a mock up CP with the vase, vase crystals, hanging crystals, and orchids it still cost $100 per DIY. I was quoted $200 for manzanita CPs by one florists. They were huge and gorgeous. But I went with a birch branch CP and paid $100 per but bought the floralytes and hanging crystals myself. http://tinyurl.com/ddt54s

I don't know why but I thought branches would cost less than flowers. I guess I could alternate the branch CPs with short floral CPs to reduce the total cost. This may be a dumb question but do you think guests at a short CP table would notice or care that they were at a table without the branch CPs?

I really thought branches would be cheaper too. But they are not at all. I had the same concern honestly about the alternating CPs. I know we think to much and I'm sure no one would think they were any less important because they had a small CP table. But we did decided not to alternate and kept them all big, because I'm crazy like that. It really made the room though. Having such a dramatic appearance.

I know, it def adds a wow factor. I love your CPs BTW. I'm definitely going to ask her about the burch branches.

I had a similar pic, be prepared for the face.  I was crushed b/c I really wanted it but was on a budget so I decided to go with white hydrengea and curly willow instead.  Hopefully your florist will surprise you (in a good way)!  HTH!

Thanks! Good luck. Like I said I had to shop around my ideas and I went with the $100 option vs $200.

Personally I think it looks pretty when there are alternating centerpieces.  :)

Thanks Dior! That makes me feel better :)

I did the alternating high and low, and if anyone said anything to me, I would have said, well, the florist did the placements, get mad at them.  I thought it looked nice with the different centerpieces.

No advice here -- just wanted to tell you that this centerpiece is gorgeous.  Totally making me rethink my ideas for CPs.

Ditto Dior, I really like when CPs alternate. Seabass are you going to be meeting with Howie from Anderson?

Sure thing!  I do think the guests would notice, but you'd want them to.  It adds interest to the room, and maybe it'd encourage a tad more mingling...people wandering over to check out other table's centerpieces.

Agreed, I think alternating can look very nice and would not think twice if I got a smaller cp vs. the branch one.

I did alternating high (brances w/flowers, crystals and candles hanging) and low (floating candles in medium and short round vases and vases of hydrangea.  It looked good to have the mix--I think it would def be too much to put something like this on every table.  I just let the florist put them where he thought they would look best with an utter disregard for whether or not people cared if they got a branch cp or not.

wpsmalls ~ my mom has a florist that she uses for everything so that's who we're meeting with first. Then we'll meet with Howie to compare prices.

I was at a wedding where they had alternating centerpieces- one with branches like your pic and another with flowers.  It was interesting and I think it can get guests flocking to other tables to see what the other centerpiece looks like.

O ok well let me know how it goes when you meet with him because we haven't done that yet, its still kinda early for us. But just wanted to get your opinion because all my info for him has come from the few times i have gone in and they were setting up for an event and then info from Wendy. Much rather have a knottie opinion. Good luck.

To be honest I haven't heard fantastic things about the house florist, nothing bad but just OK at best. I was emailing back and forth with another knottie about her wedding at the imperia and she didn't end up using the house florist. I can forward you that email if you want. It also has a link to pictures from her wedding. Oh and in her pictures the Majestica room doesn't look dark at all!

Please send me those emails: wpsmallwood@gmail.com. Thanks. Did you talk to Imperia about where the money would go if you don't use them for your CPs? I never really thought about it because flowers aren't really that important to me, but once again my mother has her opinion lol. I will definitely be forwarding those pictures to her, maybe then we will have some peace of mind....gotta love her.

YGM ~ I think the said they would give a $5 credit per table if you didn't use their florist. So it's not much, maybe we'll see if they can through in something extra during CH or maybe put it towards a viennese table (still haven't decided if we're having that yet).Oh and to completely switch topics but that email made me think of it. We did our hotel block at the Crowne Plaza instead of the Comfort Suites. 1. Crowne Plaza was cheaper, 2. Because it had a bar that we could use for an after part and 3. It's newly renovated a looks really nice.

I'm having branch centerpies with manzanita branches (haning candles on them) for my reception with two small floral arrangements on either side. I don't think they are as elaborate as the picture you posted and there are no flowers on the branches. For mine, it's costing me $150 a centerpiece. Thankfully I'm having a small wedding and don't need too many! Hope this helps!

Yea I wasn't too impressed with Comfort Suites. We actually did our block at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick. The rate was only $69 and I couldn't believe it. The women told me it was because it was a year in advance. YAY for doing things early!
  • edited December 2011
Love the Hyatt! It's newly renovated too! And you got a better rate than us!

I dont like centerpieces that big, someone is gonna lose an eye.
  • edited December 2011
I guess our guests will have to apply the same anti-eye poking defense mechanisms they use when their outside in the wilderness to make it out of our wedding unscathed.
