New Jersey

Hi new to the board.

HiI just wanted to say hello. I'm new to the board. Also looking for some reviews. Has anyone ever been to a reception at The Oakside Mansion in Bloomfield or The Stony Hill Inn in Hackensack. Thanks

Hi.  One of my friends had her wedding at the Oakside Mansion and really liked it.  She had almost 200 people so she had to have the tent set up, but I belive if you have under 80 you have everything in the mansion.  Overall she was very happy.  I have been to that caterers other venues and have really liked them.  Diorandkisses on the board is getting married at the Stony Hill Inn I believe.Happy Planning!

Hi! Welcome.  I'm getting married next summer at the Stony Hill Inn.  Both ceremony and reception will be there.  Oakside Mansion is also beautiful, but I didn't go with it because they hold a maximum of 210...and I was afraid if I came near that number it'd be crowded.  Also, the price of the catering doesn't include rentals for the tent, and the tent is not air conditioned.  It is heated though.  The price per person on Saturday nights, which was all I asked about when I spoke to them, was about 85 dollars (without any upgrades like dessert tables or raw bar)...but then you have to pay for tables, chairs, etc. etc. in the tent.  I've heard Frungillo catering is good, so I don't think the price is too unreasonable.  The heat factor killed it for me, though.  Might have been different if I wasn't looking at July.  I chose Stony Hill Inn because it has a nice, classy, elegant feel.  Also, FI and I went for a food tasting that absolutely sealed the deal for us.  They just had price rollbacks, because they're under new ownership as of recently.  I'd say definitely go check it out.  If you need any additional info about Stony Hill, email me at fitnessdance@hotmail.com, and I'd be happy to help.  Best of luck either way! :)

I've been to a lot of bar association dinners at the Stony Hill Inn, though they haven't done them there recently. Good food, from what I remember.
