Outdoor wedding in Wake County, NC

Hi Everyone! My fiance and I are getting married May 2011. We are currently looking for a place to have the ceremony. We would ideally like to have it in North Raleigh or Wake Forest. Some people have mentioned a place with a barn and lots of beautiful outdoor space in N. Raleigh and someone else mentioned sometihng called "the Castle" or something along those lines in Wake Forest. Our budegt for the ceremony site is $900 but ideally we'd like to spend less than that. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Hi! How many guests will you have? Off the top of my head, some of the more affordable places in Raleigh are: JC Raulston Arboretum (Rose Garden near NC State), Brier Creek Country Club (I believe it was exactly $900 for the ceremony site, and then of course you pay extra for the food), Matthews House (Cary), Haywood Hall.

All the venues in Wake Forest that I can think of are pretty pricey: The Sutherland (gorgeous and super expensive); Crenshaw Hall; The Cotton Room; Hudson Manor. Haven't heard of "The Castle"...

West Point on the Eno is really pretty and public space so I can't imagine it would be expensive.

But keep in mind for an outdoor location you're going to need to rent tents, tables, chairs, etc etc.  It may end up being cheaper using somewhere like Artspace at the end of the day.

Yeah The Sutherland was going to be around $7,500. We are considering having it at the golf course in Wakefield. As it's not too terribly expensive. We only plan to have about 75 guests. Thanks for the tips.
