WDYT: Photos/Thank you's

I really wanted to get my thank you's (wedding) out ASAP so as soon as we got back from HM I began on them and had them all completed within 2 days. Then I realized that I really wanted to include a pic of me and DH...so my thank you's have been sitting here at my desk for over a month now. So my question is -- is it normal for the pictures to take this long (we didn't get albums, just 500 proofs) AND do you think the guests are like wtf! why is taking so long for the thank you's (or at least wtf why did it take so long...when they actually get them)

I think if you send them out within 2-3 months no one will bat an eye!

I have received wedding thank you cards as far out as 10 months later!  I think that is way too long,(better late then never) but if you want to include a picture I feel 2-3 months is the average I have seen.As far as getting pictures back, if they were digital photos you should have them immediately to view online.  Have you not seen anything yet?

Agree, I don't think anyone really notices or cares how long it takes to get a TY (within reason). They only start to notice when they don't get one.

My photog did take all digital...he sent me a teaser slideshow of about 20 photos but when I say teaser that's all it was bc it was a mix of pics and I was so anxious to see more of DH and I... That being said, I have only paid him 1/2 - he has in his contract that you pay the other 1/2 upon receipt of the photos so I'm assuming that's why he hasn't sent me any online proofs or whatever. I just didn't know if this timeframe was normal for a photographer to get photos back (thanks for the feedback on TY's I feel better about it now)

Yeah, as long as I got one within 3 months I wouldn't care. Late is better than never, I guess, but that being said I got one a year later and was sorta pissed about it (AND it was a generic computerized note inside, nothing handwritten). Are you talking about including a wallet-sized print with your cards? If prints would take more than a month or so, I'd personally just send out the cards now and then include the wedding pics with your Christmas cards, or give them to people as you see them (the people who'll likely keep them). I'd keep a pic from my friend or a close relative's wedding, but probably not from a second cousin I barely see, KWIM?

I would definitely wait for a picture. I just looked at your bio though... Almost two months since your wedding? That's a long time to wait. I wonder if that's average?

Kris...my TY cards are still waiting to go out.  It's nothing anyone else did, it's me and DH.  98% of them are done.
