NYC Girls--Rec's for drink places?

I'm meeting up with one of my clients (she's my age--late 20s) tomorrow night for drinks and I was hoping you guys could help with some recommendations.  She's on 42nd and 2nd, but we could travel a little outside the area too.  I'm just looking for something fun and cool.  TIA! ~Megan

Do you like wine?  There's a really cute wine bar on First Ave & 64th that I like.  It's called Felice Wine Bar.

That isn't a great area for drinks-- lots of very generic after work places, or else fratty Murray Hill places.  You could try Vero Wine Bar on 2nd between 53rd and 54th or Stag's Head on 51st between 2nd and 3rd (it is a pub, but has a great craft beer selection). The Ws in that area have cool bars... or at least did a few years ago (haven't been in a while).Clo Wine Bar in Time Warner Center is neat.  It is a robot wine bar.  But it is kind of far from where you'll be.

cknud, I love Felice!  It is one of the two things (the other being Central Park) that I miss now that I moved downtown!

There are like no girls ever in Blind Tiger (not saying that means anything but just so you know) I think in the area that you are in I have a few nice recs:Lea Wine Bar in the Helmsley walkway, nice crowd, good atmosphereArtisanal now offers a nice bar menu so if you like wine&cheese this is the spot! All the models/celebs have been seen this week because of Fashion Week out at Aureole if you are interested in celeb spottingWhen I worked on 42 and Madison we had a lot of after work drinks at Opia and Butterfield8 so you will find those places filled with work type people.Have fun!

Winedown on 30th between park and madison is a cute hole in the wall place but has great little apps/tapas stuff you can munch on. They do a nice sangria.
