It's the little things that really annoy me the most

Friend: What's the link to your registryMe: Registered at MacysFriend: I know but whats the linkMe: www.macys.comFriend: No the link to YOUR registryMe: I don't know just type in my last name and it will pop up::longer then normal pause::Friend: I guess I'll figure it out.Well gee I hope so. You're 31 years old, have an engineering degree and your MBA, if you can't figure out how to find my registry without a big neon clicky then don't worry about getting me a present, you have much bigger issues to deal with. I know i should just be happy that she's getting me a gift yadda yadda yadda so flame if you must.

haha...similar experience--my aunt, who has no issues using email...facebook...etc. called my mom and made her "talk her through" finding my registry at Macys.IT IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!

Some people are just lazy or busy and would prefer not to do the work themselves if you already have the link handy.  Sometimes registry pages aren't so easy to find on the front page of the website.  I doubt it is an issue of her not being smart enough to find it herself.

Ha Ha D&T that is great!  I am bookmarking that one.  Seabass, it seems like she thinks she is doing you a favor by buying you a gift.  Maybe you should offer to the store by what you want and ask her to reimburse you..that would be easy :)

Angie, isn't she kind of doing her a favor (or at least doing something nice for her) by buying a gift?  I really would cut this girl some slack.  I'll often look at the couple's registry several times before deciding what to buy.  It would be much easier for me to just have a link instead of each time going to the front page of the website, trying to figure out where the registry link is, entering the name (and sometimes you also have to put in date and the state (which can be complicated if the couple isn't getting married where they live so you don't know which state they're listed under)).  No, I'm not too stupid to figure it out, but as a smart girl I know that sometimes it is nice to cut out the middle steps by just having a direct link?

Uppereast normally I would say ok but Macy's registry is really simple, you only need first and last name and you are there.  Also, there is a big thing right on the home page saying wedding registry.

Yeah, but caketime maybe she doesn't know that and is acting out of frustration at prior registry-finding experiences?  Every time I go to williams-sonoma.com and click on "manage my registry" instead of "find a registry" by mistake (which is every time, and I am a smart girl), I want to scream.  And I love when the registries are all lined up in a pretty row on weddingchannel.com because that way I don't have to figure out where the little box is on BB&B's website, and then W-S's website, and then Macy's website, just to figure out what I want to buy.I assure you that I'm not stupid-- I just value my time but also like to deliberate about my decision.

I was being a bit sarcastic, I don't actually think she's too stupid to figure out how to get to my registry. I get that people are lazy and or busy and getting a shower gift for me is not really high and their fun list but, I don't really think that needs to be advertised to me. She could have just as easily texted my MOH who she knows very well, and who is the one who actually sent her the invitation.

I think that it also puts you in an uncomfortable position to physically direct someone to buy you a gift. Vent on Seabass!
