I'm sitting here with such mixed emotions...I know there are a ton of things that still need to be done before I head over to the hairdresser, but I just wanted to spend a little more time on The Knot. You've all been such a big help to us in pulling together a wedding in 6 months - a feat that a lot of people thought couldn't be done. It meant sometimes using your 2nd choice vendor (recommended by your 1st choice vendor who did your first daughter's wedding), but we're happy the day has finally arrived & it's time to celebrate. Today my "baby" marries her best friend & I'm so happy for both of them. I am getting another "son", a man who I've come to know and love over the past 2 years. My daughter is very picky & never dated a lot - when she brought Jeff around, I knew he must be very special to have even gotten a toehold in her heart. I'm sad, but gloriously happy, too. I'm thankful for this beautiful day filled with the people we love & who have loved us & supported us over the years. And I can't wait to celebrate this important event with them tonight - weddings are a wonderful way to bring everyone together for a happy occasion, especially when the parents & family are as happy for the bride and groom as we all are. So thank you, Ladies, for all of your help - especially you, Caketime, who was so patient with all my questions about the Knoll Country Club and the Embassy Suites (both of which have been wonderful to work with so far, knock on wood). I appreciate all that I learned on these boards - there's an awful lot of knowledge floating around on here. And thank God for waterproof mascara! There's something about watching your daughter, who you've loved for 26 years, go off on the arm of her life's partner that just makes me weep, although I adore him, too, and know he makes her so happy! I'm sure your own mothers have felt the same emotions, even if they haven't expressed them out loud. I'm Italian & we have a hard time holding ours back...
