We went to our tasting on Friday and it was very good! I really liked the way they set it up. I want to say there were about 10 couples and their families there and it really showcased how the Imperia executes an event. We were in the upstairs ballroom, which is gorgeous BTW. I was actually thinking to myself, 'why didn't we pick this room?'. The evening flowed like a mini reception. We arrived a little early so we were given champagne while we waited in the foyer. The champagne is Verdi. I usually like very dry champagne and this was definitely on the sweeter side, but still good. At 8:00 they opened the doors to the CH. The set up was about 1/2 of what the actual CH would have been and there was still a ridiculous amount of food. They had the entire cold display, 1 carving station, 1 specialty station, 3 chafing dishes, and 4 butler passes hors' d'oeuves and open bar. Everything I had was very good. Our favorites where the baby lamb chops (my personal fav, excellent!), shrimp cocktail, mushroom ravioli (FI and my parents fav). Oh the sushi was also really good and so was the glazed ham. The only thing that I had that I didn't love was the chorizo. I thought it was a little dry, which was weird because it was mixed with chicken & shrimp in rice and the rest of the dish was very tasty, just didn't like the chorizo. After the CH they walked us through the kitchen to check it out. It was pretty clean and all the cooks were very friendly. Next we were seated in the ballroom, which had the sweetheart table set up, the cake table and each family got their own table. They served the entrees family style so everyone good taste each entree (fr the wedding everyone would get their own plate). M favorite by far was the Filet Mignon. The Salmon was also very good. I never had Halibut before so I don't know if I just don't like halibut or if I just didn't like their halibut. Lastly was dessert. We got slices of the different flavors of cakes and they set up a mini viennese display as well. I liked the white cake much better than the chocolate cake. But I'm not really a crazy about chocolate so take that for what it's worth.Needless to say I was stuffed by the end of the night, which I guess will make up for us not being able to eat anything at our actually wedding. Overall I'm super happy with our venue. The staff is so friendly and really does give excellent service. Sorry this is so long just wanted to share our experience. HTH!P.S. There was another event going on in the Majestica room downstairs and we didn't even notice until the end of the tasting when I started to go down there and heard the music. So it was nice to know they could pull of 2 events at the same time without any delays or kinks in service.
