Pens and Cups being COMPARABLE

TECHNICALLY both pens and cups both, indeed, hold liquid. (unless, or course, you're broke and all your pens are empty) girls rule, boys drool! :)

    they are comparable, one you write with, and one you drink out of.  It is actually easier to compare things that are dissimilar that things that are similar, cause the differences are more obvious.

    I was merely proving you wrong since you think you're ALWAYS right: "I can compare my cup to my pen, one holds liquid one does not, that is a comparison."But I guess you have one of those pens that is empty.

    May I get really technical and correct brad on something? Go ahead you say? Don't mind if I do!The statement you made above is incorrect.  You cannot compare two or more things to find how they are not similar.  COMPARING means you find how they ARE similar, while CONTRASTING means that you find how they are different.Just though I'd point that out -- something that even my high school aged students know the difference between when they answer compare/contrast questions on a test.Hope that helps!

    Mishy I was just gonna say that comparing and contrasting are two different things! I think maybe you need to do a venn diagram for this......
