Flu shots?

i'm going this afternoon to walgreens for mine. anyone else get theirs yet?

I never got a flu shot (well maybe when I was little and had to).  But they make me nervous - and I really ever get the flu....so I take my chances.  Now that I haven't had one in so long, the doctor won't let me get one when I'm pregnant anyway.  I don't know why vaccinations freak me out so much!

I got mine on Tues Erika. Dana, you should check with your doctor about the  H1N1 flu shot. They are saying that pregnant women and young kids are more prone to catch the H1N1

not yet - and i'm not sure i will get one.  they usually give them in work the next few weeks so if i do i will wait until then.  i generally don't get sick and if i do its never severe.  i have only gotten 1 in my life and didn't see any difference from years when i didn't get one - although now that i am on the train every day it may be something to consider.  i am such a baby with needles! i doubt i will get the H1N1 - it makes me nervous how quickly they produced that one!

I am WAY to scared to get the H1 one - it's too new - there's no way they could have done enough testing on it.  I'm a loser these days anyway - i go from my bed to my office to my bed! not too much interaction from me!

I get it every year. My office does it for free the end of this month so I'll get mine then. Hubby got his. he will get his swine flu one too , rescue squad gives them to the members.

I got really sick the first time I got it so now I refuse to get it.  I would rather just wait to get the flu than induce it now.

You can't get the flu from a flu shot, anymore.  It's inactive. http://www.cdc.gov/FLU/protect/keyfacts.htm

My mother's company offers them to family members as well, so I'll be getting one tomorrow. I spend way too much time crammed into subway and train cars with sniffling, sneezing people to not get one! I'm on the fence about the H1N1 though.

Einat - they don't require pregnant women to get it, but they suggest it.  but they usually don't want you getting it if you haven't in a few years (which I haven't since I was really young) I guess they're scared about reactions?  Not sure.

My first one was last year through my company, and ill have it monday since h1n1 my company (uk based) as been going flu crazy, they can't offer that shot yet but if our docs are doing it they will pay for it.

I got my flu shot on Monday, and it had the regular flu virus strand & an H1N1 strand like virus.  My arm hurt really bad on Monday and a little bit on Tuesday.  I'm glad I got it.  This is my 3rd time getting it in 7 years.

I was a pincushion this week...lol....I got 2 allergy shots in my right arm Monday and a flu shot in my left arm on Wednesday, as well as the TB test on my right arm....But both arms are definitely sore

I got mine in school yesterday and my arms is definitely sore.  I usually get it every year my doctor recomends it since I am asthmatic.  I would be way to scared to get the H1 shot b/c it is too new and was developed in a big rush.

I get mine every year, and Erika, it's because of you. One day, me, you, Christine, (and I dont remember who else) went out to eat in New Bruns. You were already working and we were seniors. You said you were getting one because when you're working, you can't get afford to get sick. For some reason, it stuck with me, and now I go every year. :-)

I got mine before school started this year. I work with  5 year olds who are always coughing and sneezing on me. I don't want to be sick for my wedding. I also take vitamin d everyday

I've gotten a flu shot every year since I've graduated college.  So far it has worked for me.  Since I work with kids, I'm definitely getting another one this year, although I'm not getting it until next week.My future MIL is a nurse and focuses on public health, so she is a huge advocate for the flu shot!

omg, v, that is too funny!  my arm is killing me, but def worth the pain for a few days instead of being in bed sick for 2 weeks!
