my mom is driving me nuts!

She's telling me that there are formal and informal flowers and apparently the flowers I like (cabbage roses and peonies) are informal, which is not what she likes. And because my wedding is at The Manor its formal ... according to her. Help me out knotties... HELP

    I think a sunflower or a daisy might be a little less formal (though I don't really think of flowers as formal/infomal) I think peonies are soft and romantic and elegant. What does she think are formal flowers?

    i was thinking sunflowers too - but again it all depends on when and where your wedding is...dont blame the flower!

    I don't think of  flowers as formal or informal. While I think some can be classier than others - like roses, callas, etc. and some less like daisies, gerbers. But I think ultimately it's your choice. Your flowers are not going to make your event less formal! They can only add to it really.

    I think you should stop telling her details! Lol Really though, its flowers... To me has nothing to do with being formal/informal. Flowers are flowers!

    Heh, my mom has been driving me crazy about wedding things since about 5 minutes after I told her I'm engaged. She is thinking that weddings are the same as when she got married 40 years ago.  When she gives me a hard time, I just say "all the girls on the knot do it this way"... and that shuts her up :)As for flowers, do what you like! I don't ever remember a time when I've looked at flowers and they were too formal/informal. They should match your personality more so than the venue.

    Peonies and cabbage roses are what I really wanted...and I'm having a formal wedding. Unfortunately they're no longer in season.  Which I hate to tell you, won't be in season for your wedding, looking at your ticker. Of course they can get the cabbage roses (garden roses) if they're being grown somewhere, but they will cost $$$$$$ to have them when they're not truly in season. At least this is what the florist told me.
